FRESH FOCUS at Stills

FRESH FOCUS at Stills is a new community for graduate photographers where they can seek peer criticism and support for their creative endeavours. The aim of the group is simple - to bring fresh practitioners together in a focused and supportive environment with the intention of fuelling critical engagement, promoting good working practices and connecting them to the wider photographic community.

The group meets twice a month at Stills (one weekday evening and one weekend) for a critique of work in development. Stills also supports the group to develop a programme of talks, critiques with guest speakers, pop-up exhibitions and participation in a range of events.

You should consider joining if you are:

  • In the early stages of your photographic career
  • Making concept-driven thematic bodies of work
  • Familiar with providing and receive critical feedback on such work
  • Motivated to attend two critiques each month with new work to show
  • Driven to develop your professional practice

Membership is for three years from the date of joining and members are expected to attend at least one critique meet-up per month to maintain their place in the group.

If you are interested in joining the group simply fill in the form below and we'll get back in touch within a week. If you have any questions you can email nic.rue@stills.org.
