Stills will host a conversation with photographer Jillian Edelstein and curator Tracy Marshall-Grant, presented alongside Jillian Edelstein — Among People, the first major survey exhibition of her work.
Reflecting on a career spanning more than four decades, Edelstein shares insight into her approach to photographing people and communities across the world. The event includes a screening of her documentary The Water Rats (2022), following swimmers at Hampstead Heath during lockdown, capturing a community formed through shared experience and connection

About Jillian Edelstein
Born in South Africa and now based in London, Edelstein has spent her career documenting people, communities and contemporary history with a distinctive combination of empathy, curiosity and psychological insight. Moving between intimate everyday moments and major historical events, her photographs reveal an enduring interest in the ways people inhabit social worlds, form relationships and navigate periods of political and personal change.
About Tracy Marshall-Grant
Tracy Marshall-Grant is an Arts Director, Curator & Producer specializing in the production of photography exhibitions, festivals, education, and archive projects. She was previously Deputy Director of the Centre for British Photography which houses the Hyman Collection and Director of Development for the Royal Photographic Society. She directed the inaugural Bristol Photo Festival and LOOK Photo Biennial 2019 in Liverpool. Tracy has also been Director of Development at Open Eye Gallery Liverpool and Executive Director at Belfast Exposed Gallery.
