From pictures of combatants in battle to tortured bodies and decimated landscapes, iconic and marketable images of conflict present war as the very opposite of peace. This exhibition examines alternative realist visions which reveal the fundamental connections and overlaps between the two.

Curated by Owen Logan and Kirsten Lloyd, this exhibition brings together a rich array of artworks, photobooks and archival materials which use realist strategies to offer alternative perspectives on warfare and the civil peace.
