20 February – 2 March 2024
Celebration Event 23 February, 6-9

Join us at Stills for TWENTY FOUR, an exhibition of work by Stills School students from the 2023/24 sessions.

The work displays a variety of techniques and subject matter, showcasing the ethos of Stills School to explore the potentials of photography. Using darkroom experimentation and more traditional approaches, the students have investigated topics such as identity, home, the environment and storytelling through photography. TWENTY FOUR highlights where photography is in 2024 and where it might be heading.

Stills School is a free alternative photography school for 16-25 year olds who face barriers to accessing the arts. It provides the space and time for students to develop new photography skills with the expert support of Stills’ team of tutors, but also encourages conversation and collaboration, allowing the participants to build a community that lives on after the end of the course. There are two stages to the School, which are represented in TWENTY FOUR: CONTACT, an introductory course for those with an interest in photography; and Stills Academy, a 12-week course providing the opportunity for students to develop their photographic practice with the assistance of Stills expertise.

Applications for the next session of the School are now open. For more information and to apply visit stills.org/learning/stills-school

Stills School is generously supported by Baillie Gifford, The Gannochy Trust, Foyle Foundation, William Syson Foundation, The McGlashan Charitable Trust and Gordon Fraser Charitable Trust.
