Frances Scott is a photographer from Orkney. A graduate of Glasgow School of Art, her photographic work often focuses on journeys.
Sea Wall, Papay was made while walking 4.11 miles of the Papay coastline. This concrete structure marks the boundary between land and sea, protecting the oldest standing settlement in Europe from coastal erosion. Revealed by the sea almost a century ago, the same forces which prompted the discovery of these neolithic homes are likely to lead to their destruction.
The print:
An archival quality digital inkjet print of 154 x 181mm on A4 (210 x 297mm) 300gsm premium matte paper, signed and editioned by the artist in pencil. It is from an edition of 25. It is not mounted, no mount or board is included.
