Day Pass — £15
Film Processing – £3 per film (35mm or medium format) £9 minimum spend.
Chemistry – £2 / 3ltr of chemistry (1ltr developer, 1ltr stop and 1ltr fix)

Induction:
Before using our facilities for this first time, a 1-hour induction is required at a one-off cost of £20. These are designed for photographers with some prior experience of the relevant process(es) they wish to undertake in Stills.

If you would like to book an induction please email [email protected] and we will endeavour to schedule one ASAP. Please note, due to ongoing COVID precautions we are having to limit our induction time slots but will notify users of any restrictions where applicable.

Please be aware that our inductions consist of an overview of the available equipment, best-practice guidance in it’s usage as well as the Heath & Safety of the building and facilities. It provides a brief refresher session for those with prior experience, but is not intended as tuition.

We recommend that users with no previous experience take one of our courses instead of the induction, in order to gain the fundamental skills and insight into darkroom and digital processes. An additional induction is not required for course participants as both the cost and information is covered as part of the course.

Please note that we have had to limit our facilities operation in line with Government guidance.

More information on our procedures can be found here.

Situated beneath the gallery on the lower ground floor are our comprehensive darkrooms including Scotland’s only open access dry-to-dry colour print processor. Despite advances in digital technologies, our traditional wet darkrooms remain as popular as ever. Whether you want to get to grips with the basics of this magical medium, experiment with new techniques or produce professional hand-made fibre based and c-type prints, Stills’ darkrooms can meet all of your needs.
