Alan Dimmick Photographs 1977—2017 was published by Stills in 2018 and follows the 2017 exhibition: The Collection Series: Works from a private photography collection & Alan Dimmick’s studio archive, 1977—2017.
The publication covers a broad range of Dimmick’s images taken over the last 40 years, from the first photo he remembers taking through to excerpts from his work and travels throughout Scotland up to the end of 2017. It features examples of Dimmick’s unique documentation of the people and places that are synonymous with Scotland’s internationally celebrated cultural scene.
The book includes specially commissioned essays, offering different perspectives on Dimmick’s work, by artists and writers such as: Jacqueline Donachie, Moira Jeffrey, Francis McKee and Ross Sinclair.
